It looks like the dingy factory at 590 Myrtle, at Taaffe, is going to be an eating and drinking establishment. According to this permit, an amended C-of-O allowing for dining has been approved. A call wasn’t returned for more details on the owner’s plans. This restaurant isn’t far from newly opened Brooklyn Stoops; it appears that the growth on Myrtle is slowly moving into Bed Stuy! GMAP
It’s a totally viable neighborhood for a restaurant. Lots of hungry people – totally underserved. Hurrah!

And yes, it does appear that Negril is opening a location there. Although I think their prices are a bit high, I wish them luck.
Oh please, Square Root Cafe and a bunch of other eateries and shops are nearby. This stretch of Myrtle is a far cry from the desolation of Roberta’s Bushwick outpost.
However, I’ll admit, the further you go down Myrtle, the more barren and seedier it gets but it is coming along.

Brooklyn location of Negrils Caribbean restaurant which has locations in the city?

Good news, also a new business has also been hurriedly progressing along in a once vacant storefront on Myrtle between Ryerson and Grand. I wouldn’t mind a cafe or a small restaurant there, it’d be a decent compliment to Pillow.
But yes, anything new for Myrtle is welcomed.
