Even though the large conversion at 184 Kent Avenue has been popular with renters, commercial tenants haven’t been as quick to sign on for the former warehouse’s ground-floor space. That’s now changing, according to The Journal, which reports that The River School—a for-profit nursery school with locations in Jersey City and the Upper West Side—has signed a 20-year lease in the Williamsburg building and expects the space to be operational by fall or winter. Meanwhile, the article says that the building’s developer is looking to get “a destination restaurant, a gourmet grocer and other stores” in the remaining 10,000 square feet of ground-floor space that’s available.
