lincoln-terrace-park-011011.jpgCrown Height’s Lincoln Terrace Park, bordered by Rochester, Eastern Parkway and New York Avenue, is getting a makeover. According to the minutes of the December CB 8 Meeting, $2 million is being allotted to renovations. This includes fixing the drainage problem in the playground area, adding a new toddler area, doing landscaping work around the comfort station, adding a spray shower in the middle of the park as well as more green space, upgrading benches and fountains, and making the park handicapped accessible. The work will be done over a year with some portions of the park getting shut down as it happens. GMAP

  1. East New York is a few miles away from Lincoln Terrace Park, from Pennsylvania Ave east. A better case can be made for Brownsville, but still, that is really more or less from Ralph Ave east. Similarly, by a stretch, East Flatbush is close to the border, but rather south of the park.

  2. For the umpteenth time, what is it with this obsession over neighborhood boundaries?

This park sits between several Brooklyn neighrobhoods (East Flatbush, Crown Heights, Brownsville, etc.). Saying that it is located exclusively in Crown Heights is like saying that Prospect Park is located exclusively in Park Slope.

Regardless, this is already an attractive park and will only look better after these renovations.

  3. Crown Hts to me also .. and I live 3 blocks away. I used to play in this park as a young boy (before the year of the flood). It really has great bones and I’m glad to hear that it will be getting a facelift.
