101 Gates Avenue Sold for $1,430,000

This one’s unlikely to make the list of Biggest Sales we do every week (it’s also a few weeks old) but we thought it was worth highlighting nonetheless. 101 Gates Avenue, a four-story brownstone between Washington Avenue and St. James Place in Clinton Hill, hit the market in mid-January with an asking price of $1,499,999 and went into contract a month later for $1,430,000; the sale closed on May 29. Judging from the few photos you can still see on StreetEasy, the two-family house has lots of original detail and is in decent shape but had not undergone the kind of renovation that earned nearby 377 Grand Street such a big ticket price recently.
