From the Forum: Bringing Light to a Parlor Level Bathroom

Could installing a skylight in a bathroom bring enough light to make the project worthwhile? Homeowners are considering adding one to their parlor level bathroom but it would require creating a shaft from the roof down to the first floor. Is it worth the effort? What other lighting options should they consider?
