What Precautions Should You Take to Protect Your Home Before a Neighbor's Renovation Begins?
What should a homeowner do to document the current condition of their home before a neighbor begins a renovation project?

A homeowner is concerned that the renovation of the townhouse next door will impact their building. While the developer of the attached townhouse initially reached out about the project, they have had no further communication. They have now discovered that the permits have been filed and the project will be starting.
They are not sure what rules might exist to force the developer to protect neighboring properties from damage or what options they have if damage does occur. Should the developer be required to pay for a pre-construction inspection by an engineer? Should they photograph their space before work starts?
Please chime in with any advice.
