Looking to bring some water to their front garden, a homeowner is contemplating setting up a system to use water from the rear downspout. This would involve diverting the spout, which currently feeds into the main sewer line of the house, to run to rain barrels or dry wells. What are the pros and cons? Should they be concerned about creating a situation where it would be easier for water to enter the house?

Please chime in with your advice.
