After opening up the party wall a homeowner discovered the source of the extensive water damage in their home was a neighbor’s leaking pipe. The neighbor had previously claimed that none of their plumbing was located in the shared wall but with the clear evidence at hand, they fixed the leak. The damage to ceilings, walls and trim caused by the leak will be pricey to repair and the homeowner is wondering how to proceed in getting some of the costs covered by the neighbor.
Please chime in with your advice.
