From the Forum: Deciding When to Turn Down the Thermostat

Homeowners are hoping to keep their tenants comfortable during the cold season so are looking for advice on how low to set the heat overnight. The rental apartment can actually get too hot when the steam heat is running and they have limited ability to adjust the radiators, so turning the heat completely off overnight has worked. They are worried about how to proceed once the truly cold weather hits. Should they consider an inexpensive programmable thermostat?
