From the Forum: Restoring a Brownstone Facade

With brownstone dust wafting down from the building, homeowners are starting to think about restoring the facade but are unsure where to start. They’ve received some quotes for the work but aren’t sure how to judge when the work absolutely needs to be done and if the estimates are realistic. Should they hire an independent inspector to determine how serious the problems are? What else should they know before tackling the project?
