Est4te Four's Red Hook Development Renderings by Raft

Feast your eyes on new renderings of the future Red Hook Innovation Studios. The dreamy designs were released this week by Raft Architects, showing off the greenery-hemmed plazas and bike-friendly spaces planned for the $100,000,000 office complex. YIMBY was the first to report on the renderings.

Developer Est4te Four began buying up parcels of Red Hook waterfront in 2012, acquiring a total of six sites for $61,000,000. Their plan is to turn the area into a mecca for creative business. The current design entails rehabbing an existing shipping terminal and building several new office buildings, in addition to a parking garage hidden beneath a diamond-patterned lawn.

If built as envisioned, the 1,200,000-square-foot complex would be the largest commercial office construction outside of Manhattan. The only hitch is, of course, money. Est4te Four still needs to secure additional investment in the project and woo a major anchor tenant for the site.

But until that happens, take a gander at the possibilities.

  1. Okay- one more thing- Not to mention the access to the ship terminal. According to this rendering, instead of lightly effecting the Van Brunt commercial corridor by accessing the terminal via Bowne Street, you now have all that traffic coming half way down an already dense Van Brunt and entering either at Pioneer or King (I can’t tell, but Pioneer is one way the opposite way at the space that they have the first road access to the terminal).

Anyway, I suppose I’m reading too much into what is only a pipedream rendering, but of course it’s scared the bejesus out of me.

  2. Wait, that’s a different site than the Valentino Park adjacent site ??!!!!??? Is Estate4 singlehandedly trying to quadruple the daytime population of transportation strapped Red Hook? It’s like they’re colonizing… It’s getting to be a bit scary at this point.
