Getting a sneak peek inside some of the architectural treats of Bed Stuy will continue to be a virtual experience this year as the annual Brownstoners of Bedford-Stuyvesant house tour returns with a video event.
The tour, which this year has a theme of “Preserving Our Legacy, While Embracing Our Future,” will take place on Saturday, October 16 with ticket holders able to view the video until October 31. Five houses will be featured this year, but just which intriguing interiors will be showcased won’t be revealed until the video launches. Acting as host again will be Monique Greenwood, owner of Akwaaba Bed and Breakfast Inns, which includes the prominent freestanding Italianate with enclosed porch at 347 MacDonough Street in Stuyvesant Heights.

While the tour has always given the curious a look into the neighborhood’s impressive homes, it is also a scholarship fundraiser. Proceeds from the event will go to a fund that so far has given out over $100,000 in scholarships to seniors from the Boys and Girls High School to support their college dreams.
Tickets are available online now and are $20 each. Ticket holders will receive an email with the video the morning of the tour launch. For more information about the event and to purchase a ticket, visit the event page online. While a trailer for the 2021 tour isn’t yet available, if you missed the 2020 tour you can watch that trailer online.
