After 20 years chronicling a rapidly changing Brooklyn through the lens of home and place, Brownstoner is ready for its own renovation.

In the coming days, we’ll be launching a newly designed website with upgraded features and functionality to better serve our readers and highlight our reporting, photography, and the Brownstoner community across the decades.

This update will make it easier to find content, including stories by Suzanne Spellen, the Insider column, and posts on a wide variety of topics such as interior design, landlord/tenant issues, streets, environmental, affordable housing, and historic preservation. An improved commenting system and links to recent comments from the home page will make it easier to connect, share, and engage with fellow Brooklynites on blog posts and in the Forum.

As we prepare for this transition, there will be temporary disruptions to Forum posting and commenting as well as commenting on blog posts. The Forum will be down for migration and blog comments disabled beginning today, March 8. (Please feel free to comment on Facebook and Instagram.) We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

Please be sure to sign up for Brownstoner’s email to be notified when the new site is live.

Once the site is live, you will need to re-register to comment on blog posts and the Forum. Existing users will be able to register with the same email and user name.

Thank you for being a part of the Brownstoner community, and we look forward to continuing the conversation together on our new website in the coming weeks.
