Buying a home in Brooklyn? Wishing you could buy a home in Brooklyn? Get answers to your questions from a panel of experts at “What First-Time Home Buyers Need to Know,” the first event in the upcoming series Brownstoner Home Events.

Panelists will delve into the home buying process, financial planning as it relates to home buying, the role of the attorney, and financing options.

Mortgage broker Adam Dahill of loanDepot will discuss financing and down payment options, including low and no down-payment options, financing for tricky situations such as mixed-use properties and small apartment buildings, and homes that require a construction loan.

Real estate agent Terry Robison of Douglas Elliman, who has served as president of his co-op building, can explain how and where to look for your first home and what you need to know about co-ops vs. condos and houses.

Financial planner Kristen Euretig of Brooklyn Plans will explore how to make a home buying plan, how to come up with a down payment, and how to buy a home even if you have debt such as student loans.

There will be drinks and snacks, and members of the Brownstoner team will be available after the panel to chat informally about the home buying experience. Brownstoner Home Events is a series of workshops and panels for prospective home buyers, sellers and homeowners.
