The annual Brooklyn Heights House Tour takes place tomorrow from 1 to 5 p.m. The tour, which costs $30, includes a townhouses of the Federal, Italianate and Greenk Revival variety as well as two carriage houses (one modern and one old-school). Tickets can be reserved by calling 718-858-9193; the tour kicks off at the St. Ann’s School Lobby at 129 Pierrepont Street.

  1. The $30 for this tour used to seen very expensive, but it hasn’t gone up for years, while most other tours have increased to $25 for tickets bought on the day of the tour. Unlike most neighborhood groups that run tours. the BHA has an office and staff, so their operating expenses must be quite high.

  2. 1:47, I agree with you. If you swing by, even not as part of the House Tour, the doorman/concierge/guard dude will likely let you look around a bit. I first did it when I moved to the area and they were very nice inside.

  3. The photo of the Bossert lobby is spectacular. Nothing quite says la-tee-dah like rows of giant marble columns and gilded ceilings. Very gorgeous.

  4. all house tours are fundraisers. I think you can even deduct it from your taxes if you want.

    and it’s also clearly what the market will bear — the BH tour is WELL attended (you’ll curse when you see the lines)
