Last week Curbed brought word of The Addison, the large new rental at 225 Schermerhorn Street (with frontage on Livingston) that, according to this listing for its commercial space, has 250 apartments. Details on this one are still a bit thin—its official website, for example, doesn’t have sample interior shots—but Curbed says the building’s studios are starting at $1,865 a month; its one-bedrooms at $2,495; and its two-bedrooms at $3,400. The handful of listings on StreetEasy make it seem like the development is launching next month.

Who thinks up these names?! Its just as original as “the continental”

    What would you call it?

  2. Did anyone buy the McSam hotel site (I presume you’re referring to the lot on Nevins and Schermerhorn)? I heard it was up for sale.

  3. I wonder what other downtown rental spots will get developed with a successful launch of this building. There is the ORO2 site, the UFO site on Flatbush, the lots between Toren and Andrea and the McSam Hotel site.

  5. the rent doesnt sound outrageous and the location is pretty good. we’ve seen more expensive shit in worst locations get rented recently, this will be rented out. I find this expensive but I know there are tons of folks out there who’ll find this to be decent deals.

  6. There is something about the shady side streets between Livingston and Fulton which always rubbed me the wrong way, and that Macy’s parking lot is a visual albatross. That being said, the shops coming to Atlantic and Fulton make this location sound great in the mid term.
