With the unexpected news that sales prices in a trio of rising neighborhoods are starting to outpace prices in “prime” Brooklyn, we decided it was time to roundup a few Brooklyn homes for sale in nabes where you can still find a relatively low price per square foot.

Bed Stuy, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Windsor Terrace, Sunset Park and Midwood are all excellent ‘hoods where your hunt can turn up homes under the $1,000-per-square-foot ceiling. And we’ve found some excellent listings to match.

Which would you choose?

This newly renovated brownstone in Bed Stuy has a three-bedroom owner’s duplex with a rental on the garden level. There’s also a fancy built-in sound system, gourmet kitchen and a roof deck. In addition to the one-bedroom rental, there’s a finished basement.
