Here’s a Crown Heights limestone with an angled front that’s been in the same family for generations, according to the listing, and retains some choice original detail. It’s at 697 Saint Johns Place, off Bedford Avenue, and near the Franklin Avenue commercial strip.

It’s a deep one, 53 feet on the parlor floor to be exact, and sits on a 131-foot lot that makes for an extended backyard.

The house is set up as a one-family, with three bedrooms and two baths above, and a living room, dining room and kitchen on the parlor level. What the garden level looks like is unclear; it houses the mechanicals, and judging by the floor plan it’s more basement than living space, though there’s a full bath down there, along with a washer and dryer.

The listing cites the “excellent condition,” and much of it looks quite good — the gleaming parquet floors, for example. But the woodwork looks tired in spots, and there may be other polishing to be done. Not to mention possible updating — the kitchen’s not pictured, nor are the bathrooms.

Actually, there’s quite a bit that’s not pictured, including the garden level or the backyard. But the photos do reveal some prime details, including pocket doors, tiled mantles, crown moldings and some choice built-in glass cabinets in the dining room.
