This March, the MTA and Transit Wireless are bringing free cell service and Wi-Fi to all 29 underground stations in the borough. Transit Wireless already brought service to 36 different stations in Chelsea, Midtown and Upper West Side, according to Queens Courier. In addition to the Queens stations, they’ll also outfit 11 stations in Midtown Manhattan. The stations should all be hooked up by June. The company plans to connect all of the city’s subway stations to wireless and cell service by 2017 to the tune of $200,000,000.
