Bedford Stuyvesant House for Sale -- 294 Clifton Place

As flips go, this four-story brownstone at 294 Clifton Place in Bed Stuy is nicer than average. Take the kitchen, which is ready for its design blog closeup with its clean lines, its Wolf stove and SubZero fridge, its marble countertop, open shelving, pendant lighting and white subway tile.

The rest of the house likewise has a sleek, modern look, and touches like radiant heated bathroom floors, a 72-jet “shower system” in the master bath and a multi-zone HVAC system.

It’s set up with an owner’s triplex above and a pair of studio apartments on the garden floor, one of which is duplexed to a finished basement. The triplex has four bedrooms, as well as a spacious second living room (or “library”) on the second floor.

The house, currently listed by Liani Greaves of LGM, sold for $850,000 in February, according to PropertyShark. After eight months and a top-to-bottom overhaul, the price is has taken a giant leap northward: The ask is $2,700,000.

Think they’ll get it? What do you think of what they’ve done with it?

  1. Tough crowd today. I actually think the garden apt set-up works perfectly for Airbnb. And the exterior looks lovely.
But… yes, too many air vents, looks weird. And too much wood in that backyard but easily fixed by the new owners. And the tile and finish combinations are meh. And I don’t understand why there are two sinks in the kitchen. But overall, easily remedied by whoever buy this place. And we’ve all seen worse, way worse.

  2. Some people buy brownstones because of the low taxes and the ability to control maintenance costs. Others might like the controlled supply of brownstones that would support property values, whereas supply of high rise condos is uncontrollable.

Not everyone has to be like you, and not everyone not like you is stupid.
