Although the weather’s getting colder, work still moves full pace ahead at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Late last week BBP shared an update on Pier 2 and the uplands at Pier 3 and 4. At the Pier 2 sports courts, crews have begun to refurbish the original pier shed for rain and sun protection. Once Pier 2 is complete, there will be space for basketball, bocce ball, handball and inline skating. And over at the uplands of Pier 3, the crews are getting the site ready to build hills! According to BBP, “The hills will range from 20 to 30 feet high and will reduce the noise level by seven decibels.” And finally, a beach and boat launch in the uplands of Pier 4 will be complete by next fall. To get an idea of where construction is happening, check out this interactive map at the BBP website.
