  1. i have been on many tours and i think this was definetly one of the best. some really great homes. looking forward to next year’s tour!

  2. The Bedford Stuyvesant tour was simply outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised by the neighborhood further out between Ralph and Patchen – the home owners definitely have vision – and that part of the Bed Stuy felt great. The Stuyvesant house is definitely a jaw dropper. I’d be laughed out of town if you all saw my house after that tour. I’m now inspired to keep going!

  3. Oh man the tour was great. Loved No. 3 with the old-modern mix (ESP the entry wallpaper and tile and the white lacquer Ikea cabinets with marble tops) and was speechless (jaw dropped) over house on Stuyvesant with parlors, coal/wood stove, and ice box.

Got a bit lost midway and didn’t see as many as I would have liked. Truly amazing tour, wish they were having another next week.

  4. Probably a dumb question but do they change the houses that are on the tour from year to year? I’ve gone on the BS house tour once before and it was great but I don’t think I would do it again if it were the same homes again. Anyone know???

  5. Nise, the brochure is the ticket to enter the houses. They mark off each stop as you enter a house. All that means is that you have to go to Boys High, buy a ticket, get the brochure, and then you are free to go to the stops on the tour as you choose. Some people do the whole thing, others read the descriptions and only go to what interests them. Since it’s self guided, there is no set time you have to be there, but since Bed Stuy is huge, and it takes time to get around, even in the shuttle bus, going earlier is better. If you wait until 2:30-3pm, you may only get to see 2 or 3 houses.

  6. nise17, it means you can’t pick it up earlier. i showed up late to the CHN house tour, they have people there to sign you in and give you the map for the duration of the tour time slot.

  7. I’m a little confused…The Bed Stuy House Tour flyer says “Brochures are mandatory for the tour” and that “Tour Brochure Distributed at 11:00am No Exceptions.” Does this mean that if you show up later, say noon, you’ve missed the event even though it runs from 11:00-4:00 or are they just trying to suggest that you can’t pick them up earlier?
