Academy Award winning actor Matt Damon is looking to fly from the sunny hills of Southern California to the tree-lined streets of Brooklyn Heights. Damon was recently spotted checking out 3 Pierrepont Place, according to the New York Post. The brownstone mansion, which has been on the market for a cool $40 million for over a year, is the priciest townhouse in Brooklyn. Earlier this year, he and his wife, Luciana Barroso, tried enrolling their children in nearby Saint Ann’s School.

The Insider: Architect-Fashion Editor Couple Creates Stylish Perch Atop Heights House

It was the three huge skylights that first sold architect Kevin Baxter of Baxter Projects on the 800-square-foot condo on the top floor of an old brick row house near the East River. Baxter, who went on his own in 2014 after working for I.M. Pei and other high-profile firms, renovated the space as a home for himself and his wife, Christene Barberich, cofounder of the lifestyle website Refinery29. Brooklyn houses don’t get any more venerable than this wood-framed Federal at 24 Middagh Street. Most commonly dated to 1824, it’s often cited as the oldest house in the borough; we can’t confirm that, but it’s certainly one of them, gawked at by many a historical walking tour.
