Brooklyn Open Houses -- Crown Heights, Cobble Hill

Our open house picks this weekend include a stately Prospect Lefferts limestone, a Cobble Hill mews house, a Bushwick flip and a fixer-upper in Crown Heights.

On Midwood Street in PLG, we’ve got a three-story, 23-foot-wide limestone in fine shape, with a corner location, bay windows, a triple parlor, coffered ceilings, parquet floors and a nicely renovated kitchen. Two notable details: It’s got a two-car garage and a ground-level office space with a separate entrance, along with a zoning that allows for a commercial business there.

Everyone loves a mews house, and we’ve got a prime specimen on wonderful Warren Place in Cobble Hill. A three-bedroom home, it’s small at 1,050 square feet and has only a single bathroom, but it doesn’t lack for charm.

Moving on to Bushwick Avenue in Bushwick, we find a fully renovated three-story row house.  It’s got a three-bedroom duplex above a garden level rental, which is duplexed with a finished basement. It was on the market for $1,200,000 in August, and is now back with a price drop.

Last up is a two-family brick townhouse with a bow front in Crown Heights that has original details intact, but needs renovating.

It was an open house pick back in May, when it was on the market for $699,000. It was taken off the market in July, and although nothing seems to have been done to the house in the interim, the price has taken a significant jump.

  1. The owner’s kitchen in the Bushwick house…I don’t understand what people have against upper cabinets these days. Where are you supposed to put things? Allll that square footage in that kitchen, 3 cabinets (not counting the under-sink cab).
    .
Seems to be designed for people who want to have 30 guests over to stand in the kitchen and have wine, but not eat anything.
