Casablanca on Track for Fall Opening

When we passed by the old Casablanca Cocktail Lounge at 300 Malcolm X Boulevard in Bed Stuy recently, construction on the interior was under way. As you can see in the photo, the cornice above the commercial space has been restored, and the old windows have been replaced with interesting new ones with hand soldered steel dividers in a geometric pattern.

The exterior also seems to have been cleaned, transforming it from gray to buff.

The venue will open in the fall, the owners told us. They were tight lipped about plans for the space for now, but promised to reveal more in a few weeks. GMAP
