Last week we happened by this new restaurant, Northern Bell, at 612 Metropolitan Avenue in East Williamsburg. It opened about two weeks ago, according to Yelp reviews. It serves American food with some Southern specialities, including fried chicken, corn fritters and braised greens. There is a full bar. Anyone tried it? GMAP

  1. Place is actually really awesome. Sick beer selection. Super clean. Nice ambiance. Back yard is a slam dunk and the food was great. Had the pulled pork sandwich…….it was spot on….corn fritters and braised greens on the side. Staff was really friendly, something lacking at a lot of other spots.

    I give it an A+

  2. Tried it just now. Meh. Pulled pork was drenched in water. Had a plate full of water by the time I was through. Extremely Bland. Teeny tiny cup of watery sauce. Margarita was nothing but melted ice. Very watery no flavor. Hush puppies were simply cornbread. No onion or garlic at all. Fries were good until they got waterlogged. Won’t last long.

    • I’m a fan. Place has good food and a great beer selection. It doesnt hurt that they have a big garden to drink in as well.
