The chain link fence, stoop and front door at 1886 Bergen Street don’t exactly have curb appeal, but the updated interiors and $750,000 price tag might entice house hunters priced out of other areas.

Set up as an owner’s duplex over a garden floor rental, the three-story building has exposed beam ceilings, exposed brick, fireplaces and mantels, new windows, new mechanicals, open plan layouts, and updated baths and kitchens. (Presumably the renovation wasn’t quite finished when the photos were taken.)

Take note the house next door at No. 1888 is asking even less — $550,000. (Unfortunately the listing has only one photo.)

What do you think? Did anyone see this place at the open house?

  1. It is not terrible, love the windows, my favorite.
The main floor doesn’t have a coat closet though, I think it is necessary.
I think it could be incorporated into the kitchen / living floor though.

i kinda like it, i would make a few modifications if it were to be mine. I like the bricks.

Outside, new railings and lose the fence of course….
new front door and sand blast and re point the bricks
a few shrubs for some greenery….
