We’re loving the wide plank floors, stair and plaster details on the parlor floor of this four-story two-family townhouse, but wonder about the rest of it. The listing says the garden-floor rental is updated and in move-in condition, while the baths and kitchen in the owner’s triplex (there’s a hidden fourth floor) “need some TLC and creativity.”
There are only three interior photos, and the listing doesn’t say anything about mechanicals, roof, boiler, etc. Also, 50 Madison Street is in Bed Stuy, not Clinton Hill, as the listing claims. With so much unknown, it’s hard to tell if the ask of $1,299,000 is a reach. Anyone seen this place in person?

I’m puzzled by the floorplan which shows 4 levels, but the house looks to be only 3.
Looked so much better in the 1940 picture. Someone butchered the double doors and added an awful awning and screen door, and tore off the beautiful cornice. Hopefully someone will fix the exterior mess. The inside doesn’t look bad though.
