This three-bedroom condo at 1 Montgomery Place in Park Slope is very impressive. The 2,624-square-foot duplex has been carved out of a former mansion and includes a 750-square-foot private garden. The layout is much more generous than what you’d find in a typical brownstone and there are lots of original details. Asking price: $2,650,000.

  1. Two of the three bedrooms appear to be in the basement. And one of these bedrooms faces garbage. In fact I walked by the building and the windows for the bedroom that looks very nicely staged with two twin beds in the photos is in fact only 2 feet from all of building garbage cans. Yuck.

  2. I don’t much object to the aesthetics of baseboard heating but have no idea how effective it is. However, for that money, I’d want a much, much better and bigger kitchen. I agree that it’s like a box in a box. I definitely would want a window actually in my kitchen, preferably near the stove, and not all the way across the room. To me, light in a kitchen is a lot more important than light in a bedroom.

  3. I agree with everyone, I absolutely hate the baseboard heatingas well. It wouldnt look that bad if they painted it the same color as the walls or as another poster said make it a wood grain or something, but not white. That is just plain ugly, and why is it, they always lose the side covers or get dented then really look crappy. Give me an old fashion radiator any day.

the kitchen choice in cabinetry is to trendy and will go out of style fast. I hate cherry wood.
I also do not like the micro over the stove. Who wants to reach up to get a hot plate from above a stove, tome, that is not convenient.

i couldnt see the whole floor plan though.

i like a window in the kitchen.
