Inside the City Modern Brooklyn House Tour
Over the weekend, New York Magazine and Dwell Magazine hosted City Modern, a house tour of 10 modern style homes in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The five Brooklyn picks were located in Boerum and Cobble Hill; the final stop on our tour was the beautiful Salle Residence in Fort Greene, formerly on the market for $10,000,000. (Sadly, we weren’t allowed to take interior photos of that home.) But after the jump, check out lots photos of a just-finished townhouse from the 9 Townhouses project, the James Cleary-designed condo build on Pacific Street, and townhouses on State and Dean streets.
Inside 301 State Street, one of the 9 Townhouses at 301-309 State Street.
Inside the modern condo build 253 Pacific Street, now sold out. We toured two duplex units, No. 5 and No. 2. Unit No. 5 below. We especially liked the exposed concrete ceilings and walls. The building architect is James Cleary.
Unit No. 2 below.
A townhouse on Dean Street that required a total rebuild. The home uses green elements in unexpected places — a green wall growing on the parlor floor, and a small garden growing near a window above the entryway. The architect is Clay Miller of Bergen Street Studios.
A totally new build on State Street. The home focuses around the kitchen on the parlor floor. The third floor belongs to the kids, with two bedrooms connected by a bathroom. The fourth floor houses the master bedroom, and the roof is filled with plantings. The architect is Ben Hansen Architect.
