A reader wrote in wondering about the Fornino Pizza concession at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier Six. She says: “It doesn’t seem to be open and shows no signs of opening any time soon. My husband and I live nearby and went to Bark Dogs many times last summer and loved it! It’s such a shame that the space hasn’t been operational for this entire summer.” The folks at Brooklyn Bridge Park told us that the first floor of Fornino actually opened last weekend. It’s serving wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, snacks, and beverages; there’s also an “Ice Box” window that serves frozen yogurt. The interior, a picture of which you can see after the jump, looks great — lots of picnic tables and natural light. Fornino planned to serve beer on the rooftop garden, but the garden has not opened yet. It is supposed to open soon, although there is no exact date.
