Summer Solstice at Newtown Creek
Come celebrate the Summer Solstice and Supermoon with your neighborhood non-profit boat club this Friday, June 21, from 6:30 pm-1 am. The North Brooklyn Boat Club will be hosting the first summer festival of the year featuring Sasha Dobson, Radicators, Taluna, Fetzig, and the Daredevils of the Red Circle. There will be grilling, a photoshoot, drinking, and dancing along the scenic shores of the Newtown Creek. It is an all ages show with a $5 cover at the Broadway Stages Boatyard (437 McGuinness Boulevard at Ash Street). All funds raised will go towards growing NBBC’s volunteer-run community organization. Make It on Myrtle – DIY Workshops
Every Sunday until July 7, MARP is hosting a do-it-yourself, two-hour workshop at the Citibank parking lot on the corner of Myrtle & Clinton Avenues at 11 am and 2 pm. This Sunday: T-shirt making, organic arts and crafts, the art of beatboxing, and how to make comics. Each session is $10 per person. Check out all the event details and reserve your spot here.

Brooklyn Flea + Smorgasburg
The Brooklyn Flea runs Saturday in Fort Greene and Sunday in Williamsburg, and the Smorgasburg market runs Saturday in Williamsburg and Sunday in Dumbo. A map, details, and times for all the markets lives here. At the Flea, check out hundreds of antique, furniture, food, jewelry, and art vendors. Smorgasburg features every type of food, beverage, and treat imaginable. Entry to all markets is free.
