American restaurant Sweetwolf’s closed last Friday at 492 6th Avenue. The rumor is that it will be replaced by a pizzeria. Items of Interest, an interior design store, just opened at 60 5th Avenue, off St. Marks Place. The design shop will also be a full-service interior design studio. Mezini Restaurant and Raw Bar is looking this close to opening, despite being under construction for a very, very long time. LA Boxing is taking a huge three-story, 6,000-square-foot property on the corner of 4th Avenue and 3rd Street. This will be the L.A.-based company’s fourth Brooklyn location. And over on 3rd Avenue and 15th Street, the fast-food joint Checkers is up and running.

North Brooklyn
Lotsa Greenpoint openings! Eater reports on five new additions to the neighborhood. They include the Fornino pizza restaurant, now open at 849 Manhattan Avenue, The Bounty, a bar and seafood restaurant now open on Greenpoint Avenue, and a new bar with backyard space called Broken Land, open at 105 Franklin Street. Williamsburg French restaurant Le Comptoir is closing up shop after three years in business. A book-themed restaurant called Biblio opened at 149 North 6th Street. They are currently serving dinner but plan to expand service in the coming weeks.

Elsewhere
Sadly, Dumbo restaurant Governor could not continue after Sandy, and it’s going to be replaced. A new restaurant called Atrium will open in the space this summer. A liquor license notice popped up on the doors of Jim & Andy Fruit and Produce, now closed at 208 Court Street in Cobble Hill. It’s unclear what’s to come, although it may be under the same ownership, since the name of the applicant is Jim & Andy Inc. Also in Cobble Hill, Lululemon is almost open at 166 Smith Street. Brooklyn Heights Blog wonders if Kaffe, a deli on Remsen Street, is closed for good. There’s signage up for Cesar’s Garden Restaurant, a Greek restaurant, at 192 Columba on the Columbia Street Waterfront. Doesn’t look like much work is happening in the space, though.
