139 5th Avenue, at St. Johns Place, is home to the long-shuttered Deli in the Slope, and is getting a major makeover. A couple of months ago we asked construction workers onsite about what was happening with the storefront, but they didn’t know. Earlier this week Here’s Park Slope checked in on the progress but also came up empty-handed regarding the future retail tenant, though a commenter noted that the building is owned by the same folks who own the Fifth Avenue Market, suggesting some kind of food-related use for the ground floor. Well, considering it’s 5th Ave it will probably be some sorta mediocre mexican joint or banh mi.
