The Wall Street Journal highlights this 4-story, 4,000-square-foot brick house in Hamilton Heights this week. Owned for almost thirty years by Arthur Mitchell, a founder of the Dance Theater of Harlem, the 22-foot-wide pad was bought by a developer last year and upgraded before being put back on the market recently for $1.9 million. Someone at The Journal didn’t check their facts though: Corcoran has it listed at $1,990,000. Eager beavers can check it out at an open house this Wednesday from 12-1:30pm.

Looks like the developer destroyed any original detail that was there. The fact that they bought it from Authur Mitchel, renovated it and talked to their friends at the Wall Street Journal to pump it up, sounds like some investor cronyism.
Cute second empire (there are quite a few of this left in the Hill and Fort Greene but they are one one story taller)
It is a shame that ther is no details left inside and there is way too much of the exp. brick.
Lovely mansard roof!
Beautiful staircase!
