I don’t see how going to a strip club doesn’t rank with tweeting pictures of yourself shirtless. Or in your shorts. Some double standard you got there.
as usual, I like being contrarian. Weiner’s real underlying problem is that he is a jerk and a poor liar -fatal flaw for a politican.
Bill Clinton managed to get out of his dilemma, -and he did more than tweet! He also shook a finger at the nation on TV and said “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” -who knew all it took was a tweet to shock the nation?
women can fool around, gays can fool around, but straight men, especially if they are married, which most are, suddenly cannot fool around. It is an amazing turn-around in accepted mores.
Everyone used to accept the fact that powerful men had sexual affairs, it was no big deal. Now the press is hysterical and everyone is in shock, shock! that a man should be caught flirting and being sexually suggestive to, get this, a woman!
Suddenly this is outrageous and unheard of!!!
Americans are nuts.
The new Puritanism in America in part seeks to knock down heterosexual men a notch or too. If a gay congressman had tweeted to a handsome undregrad, no one wold touch them. In this case, the only “victim” if you can call it that, is Weiner’s wife. And she should have known that having her marriage officiated by the biggest skirt chaser of the twentieth century certainly was not an auspicious omen.
Very true dibs. In fact I would say that the internet is changing the way men and women relate to society in as drastic way. Internet affairs- where “couples” don’t meet but otherwise carry on as if they were in bed together- it’s very weird.
I see the flagging feature is going to get abused here.

Hover your mouse over the time stamp. A little flag icon pops up.
I guess the Great Censor in the sky decided he didn’t like what he wrote?
We’ll have totally empty Open Threads then 🙂
