House of the Day: 44 Prospect Place
This townhouse at 44 Prospect Place in Park Slope just hit the market and we’re liking what we see. The original details on the parlor floor are particularly impressive, but the renovated portions like the bathrooms are also nicely done. The original details on the parlor floor are particularly impressive, but the renovated portions like the bathrooms are also nicely done. The two-unit house is asking $1,995,000, which isn’t exactly giving it away considering there are only three floors. Think the sellers will get their asking price?

but the brownstones are ok? you can build a house there but just not worship there?
I think is horrible they built a church and worship there.
This was sacred ground to native americans who were driven out by violent fanatic christians.
anyone living on or near the block have any opinions about the church next door? does the area see more traffic or noise?
The only affect AY will have on this house is the addition of new and improved retail along Flatbush, which is already occurring.
Did you guys see that they want to attract tennis events at the new arena? That sounds cool to me. Tennis rocks.
Pete,
Just because people are sick of talking about AY doesn’t mean it doesn’t still exist.
howcome that now that arena is actually being built — we never hear ‘AY effect’ anymore?
Seems when they when only a possibilty – driving prices down. As reality – means nothing.
Great North Slope block. 62 went for 2.198M 7/1/10 and 64 went for 2.2M 8/6/10. This house at 44, while not a Queen Anne (not my preference actually), is only 300 sq.ft smaller since the Queen Anne’s are only 16.5 wide and this house is 20. I think it’s a good asking price.
I like it. They did respect the detail of the house with the renovation of the master bath which is nice.
Very pretty. Those full-screen-size images really help sell the place. Love the fireplaces.
Have to laugh a little at the bathrooms though. That is one wacky tub. Do they think this is Versailles? Love the black paint though.
