This two-bedroom co-op at 66 Orange Street in Brooklyn Heights has an unusually open layout for a prewar pad. And because of the multiple exposures and windows, it’s also got a lot of light for a 4th-floor apartment. As far as we can tell, the property has about 1,200 square feet, which makes the asking price of $985,000 not at all unreasonable for the location; nor is the maintenance of $1,415. Think it’ll go for close to ask?

Yes, fireplace is ugly – I’d want to purchase an old wood mantel and redo it. And the floors don’t look great in pictures (though rugs are a way to cover much of them, such that I might not need to restain.)
I always see those posts mid-room and think I’d cover them on 3 or 4 sides with built-in bookshelves, as I hate that look.
Nice place. Don’t agree the maintenance is great for this sort of building.
One of the bedrooms is 15’5″x14’5″. That’s not small, IMHO. Even the 10×10 isn’t bad compared to some of what we’ve seen around here. I think it looks nice, except for the fireplace, as has been mentioned above.
This apartment is not for bottom feeders, which eliminates the majority of brownstoner posters.
Close to a million-dollars, $1400+ CC, and the bedrooms will fit little more than a bed. Next!
Agree that price looks OK vs comps.
Agree w/ Nomi re the fireplace & I really hate the floors (but that’s fixable).
Good price per foot for Brooklyn Heights. Looks nice. Don’t like the fireplace, but hey.
Pity comment.
