podbeanlogo.jpgSince someone told us that all the kids these days are into podcasts, we decided to experiment with our own downloadable audio digest of the past week’s content. We’ve picked two or three of each day’s newsiest posts and dropped them into one podcast that you can take with you over the weekend. Consider this an experiment and please let us know whether you’d like to see more of these or whether we should stick to the written word.

  1. Wow. You people are awful. I agree the voice sounded sleepy but at least there were no annoying sound effects like on most commercial radio today. Definitely agree with 3:21PM. i.e What could a podcast do that the website can’t?

  2. I like the idea and would definitely download podcasts from this site. The content is good and I usually dont have time to read through all the posts so a podcast would be prefect.

Only negative: the sleepy, monotonous chick reading the stories sounds awful and makes you want to turn it off immediately. If you’re going to read the stories, why not read them yourself brownstoner? That would be great

  3. Carol Gardens nailed it – I’d listen if you weren’t just reading off already posted (and likely then read) articles. New or unique content is what I’d tune in for. Like interviews or somesuch.

  4. I’d love SPECIAL podcasts… a brownstoner walking tour – i’d definitely download that and wait for nice day to wander about the neighborhood and hear about how much various houses cost/when they were last sold and short interviews/stories from people in the area.

I know this would be a major project but, I’d prefer an occasional but interesting piece that is particularly suited to audio rather than something i can read for myself and – isn’t enhanced by listening – indeed w/o pictures it is less exciting.

  5. Sorry, this is NOT the way to do a podcast. Reading items that are on the website with a bored-sounding voice is less than scintillating. It would be great if you did a podcast with NEW content–like some interviews that go more in depth on the issues of the week. I’ll stick to reading the site. PS: I listen to a lot of podcasts–that’s all I have on my (pathetic shuffle) iPod.
