After a number of twists and turns, an historic property near Hot Bird could not be saved and will likely become a seven-story apartment building.
The bar, once known for its large outdoor area and banning of children, was taken down along with the entire side of the block on Atlantic Avenue between Clinton and Vanderbilt avenues.
The freestanding 1850s house is located just outside the Clinton Hill Historic District and adjacent to a proposed 29-story tower.
Public records show the longtime owners received only $525,000 for the property, which is currently on the market for $9.9 million.
