Get ready for the world’s most creative block party, June 10 and 11, as the Central Brooklyn Arts & Culture Weekend returns. This true community effort will engage the borough’s leading cultural institutions, including the New York Aquarium, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, Jewish Children’s Museum, and Prospect Park Zoo.

The fun starts on the evening of the 10th with a Movie Night Under the Stars behind the Brooklyn Museum. The event begins at 6:00 pm with activities including balloon art, face painting and more.

The festival portion commences the next morning along the Eastern Parkway corridor from Flatbush Avenue and Grand Army Plaza to Washington Avenue, with festivities including a day-long dance party at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Arch. Local vendors will offer an array of delicious cuisines and local art along the corridor. The playground in Ronald McNair Park will host a full lineup of activities, including bouncy houses, ball pits, martial arts and skateboard demonstrations, and an ice cream social.

Three separate stages will showcase diverse local dance and music performances and two famous sons of the borough will be honored: multi-platinum hip hop star Fabolous and groundbreaking artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Pavers engraved with their names will be installed in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s famed Celebrity Path.

The weekend is hosted by Borough President Eric L. Adams, State Senator Jesse Hamilton, City Council Member Laurie Cumbo, and district leaders Geoffrey Davis and Shirley Patterson. Sponsors include Affinity Health Plan, Alpha Care, Emblem Health, Fidelis Care, HBO, Investors Bank, National Grid, and NYC & Company Foundation.
