This three-bedroom duplex penthouse condo on the Williamsburg waterfront is not quite the most expensive rental in Brooklyn right now, but it’s close. Clocking in at No. 4 in the list, PH1A at 22 North 6th Street is one of a handful of uber-pricy pads available in the borough.

Located in the South Tower of the Edge, among the first clutch of glassy luxury towers to shoot up in Williamsburg after the 2005 rezoning, it has competition from two similar penthouse units in just-built Downtown Brooklyn rental towers and an entire Park Slope townhouse for rent, among others.

It may beat them all in swank, though, with its double-height living room with fireplace and giant windows overlooking a large private terrace with sweeping views of the East River and Manhattan. There is a large space for entertaining, a dramatic staircase, and three bedrooms, including a primary suite on the top level, as well as three bathrooms, an office and sizable laundry room. Other appointments include a balcony off one of the bedrooms, a wine fridge and a Viking barbecue on the aforementioned terrace. The building has a swimming pool.

A typical prospective renter of a $20,000-a-month property might be a celebrity, executive or athlete who’s relocating or looking for temporary digs, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The condo’s main exposure — it has two — faces toward the Williamsburg Bridge, where the view will soon be dominated by Two Trees’ massive forthcoming River Ring development. The project was approved in December, the same month the unit sold to an LLC for $5.125 million.
