Would never buy or rent anything from Julie Cohen at BHRE.
I walk by the Willoughby Ave “house” all the time. It’s really a very small apt. bldg built out to the lot lines. The apartments are floor throughs and it’s near a very pretty block and the Home Depot but the immediate area is kind of bleak.
My husband and I took a look at 39 Stephens Court, even making an offer that was accepted after being on the market for less than two weeks. However, the seller dragged her feet and we eventually ended up walking away from the house. In retrospect, while it had a HUGE amount of space, a full kitchen and bath renovation were on the top priority list and it is right off of Flatbush Ave as Maria mentioned. There is no parking and 4 day/week street cleaning. The block is nice block of friendly people, many of whom have lived there for generations, the surrounding blocks still have a way to go.
I am always skeptical of the time-to-sale and original-asking-price info in these. The newspapers get it from the brokers who are not eager to mention that the place was on the market for six months (as the Flatbush place appears to have been) at a substantially higher price (don’t know if that was the case in any of these).
watch what you say, 1:11.
people this week don’t take very kindly to those that think the real estate market hasn’t crashed to oblivion.
Interesting isn’t it that all three sold at asking, and quickly. I guess they either started or finally reached market price.
The ad makes the Flatbush house sound nice. Did it look as good? Why is the price high and the sale slow? Location or what? I see lots of stuff this size but ugly wood frame advertised out in Brooklyn in the $600,000 range.
That Flatbush house was on the market since February! It’s about 10 steps from Flatbush Ave. Never saw the inside, price was too hott for my blood.
