Here’s a pretty affordable four-bedroom, 2.5-bath duplex in Sunset Park. While it doesn’t look particularly fancy, it is recently renovated with stainless steel appliances and lots of cabinets. What do you think of it for $3,500 a month?

  1. I was born and raised in Sunset Park,It’s def to pricey to raise a family for $3,500 a month, thats mortgage money right there.thats good for student share like elizabeth said under me.

  2. It would be “pretty affordable” as a house-share (i.e., four housemates paying on average $800, being close to the subway, etc. is pretty affordable. ) There are more and more single people who share houses nowadays, even in Sunset Park. For a family, a family who needs 3 or 4 bedrooms and who has $3,200 to drop on tent, I personally cannot see them choosing Sunset Park to raise kids. For that money, a family would look in Bay Ridge for those amenities PLUS excellent schools. Sunset Park, a neighborhood I love, is great for people without kids IMO. Kids whose parents can afford $3,200 belong in Bay Ridge.
