The brand-new apartment has a washer and dryer, central heat and air, some nice big windows and a little balcony. Not bad for a monthly tab…
This two-bedroom rental is in a new development at 1384 Bedford Avenue, between St. Marks and Bergen. (StreetEasy has this listed in Prospect Heights, but it’s definitely Crown Heights.) The brand-new apartment has a washer and dryer, central heat and air, some nice big windows and a little balcony. Not bad for a monthly tab of $1,850. (There’s also no rental fee!) What do you think of that price in this part of the neighborhood?

A good price, but the second bedroom is probably tiny, as it was probably designed for a young family.
Elevator=good for bikes, which you definitely should love riding when you live around there.
I don’t understand at all why Street Easy lets agents pick the neighborhood.
They’re plotting everything on a map, they ought to be able to just assert that a building is inside the boundaries of Prospect Heights. That’s pretty rudimentary GPS.
This building isn’t new. It opened in 2008. I’d be leery of this renting here. I used to live there, but the place was just turned over to a receiver a few months ago after the builder lost it in bankruptcy. Most of the old renters left at that time. The company now managing the place owes us lots of money and won’t return phones calls or emails. The building is not bad, but it’s not worth dealing with shady managers.
