Rental of the Day: 63 Stagg Street
Here’s a much nicer loft for rent than the one we saw last week. 63 Stagg (talk about a street name!) is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom triplex in Williamsburg. There are even two private decks, one opening from the triplex office space, and the second opening from the main living space. Those crazy floor to ceiling windows are also a good touch. You could do a ton of interesting things with this space, but the rent will set you back $3,500 a month. Thoughts?

Projects in both directions. The ones just to the West are particularly dreadful, noisy, trashy, etc. but that’s what you get in this area. “Variation”
a friend of mine lives in the same layout next door… pretty cool apartment.
Huge living room and separate home office. Nice kitchen. The loft area is huge and stretches back 17 feet and the ceilings are pretty high so even tall people can fit. It’s a great apartment for entertaining and the open feeling of the space is amazing.
They have two balconies and an outdoor space, so we did some grilling and sitting out there. They got theirs for $3200, so I’m not sure about $3500 though that’s not a big difference.
Bah, no it is Williamsburg. Also, isn’t across the street from some projects? And not the cute, historical projects farther up the street — the ones just off Union Ave?
This is East Williamsburg. Not Williamsburg.
Since Emily commented on the street name, I will add the 782 telephone exchange found sometimes in Williamsburg is STagg-2.
Glorified 1BR. Hence “only” $3,500/mo. “2nd BR” actually hallway. Turns off most shares from competition. Works for family of 3-4 waiting out 2nd leg down in home price collapse.

“Stagg Lofts! I remember these things! Busta Rhymes was supposed to be living there ”
haha yeah – but he bought the penthouse in the Gretsch – which he sold to 50 Cent – I think Josh Hartnett lives in it now.
Stagg Lofts! I remember these things! Busta Rhymes was supposed to be living there (long line of Brooklyn celebrity rumors…Oprah @ 1HP, Beyonce @ OPP, Curtis Martin @ BBP, SJP/Broderick @ Park Slope, etc etc etc…)

just went to check what a comparable 2 BR in 349 Metropolitan would go for and it looks like they’ve leased 39 out of the 40 units in 2 months – impressive
