789 Quincy Street [Douglas Elliman] GMAP P*Shark
This is a beautiful and well priced rental in a very convenient location. I don’t know that particular block, but it’s close to the Gates stop and the police station. FWIW, the hipsters have reached Gates. (There’s quite a bit going on near Myrtle Broadway.) The J is very convenient if you’re going to South Williamsburg, the LES, downtown, or if you work on the F train.
Yes, I remember this house was for sale — I’ve seen that four poster bed before.
I’m biased and should probably not comment on trains going further. I’m 3-5 minutes to the S/2/3/4/5 or 10 to the B/Q, so I see most train situations as not that great.
I still think this is a great rental.
love the j and m. have not noticed any problems. they come quickly. i walk a fast 15 minutes to take either to avoid switching trains, and for exercise. i have no problem with this line – seats available even.
this is a good deal for a family that has kids settled in school somewhere, or is thinking magnet or charter. lots of folks coming from bstuy to WB for magnet school.
The J train used to be great. Wasn’t this house for sale on here sort of recently? That bed is distinctive.
What’s with the hating on the J train? From the Gates ave stop it only takes about 15 minutes to get to the lower east side and 30 minutes or a bit more to times square if you switch to the Q at canal. And if you work downtown its a quick trip to Broad St. The train runs express at rush hour skipping all the stops between Marcy and Myrtle. Plus now the M train runs all the way to midtown. I’d take the J over the C any day.
Of course you do have to wait for it to show up. It’s been pretty erratic since all the service cuts began.
At least there’s a train only a block or so away. More than you can say for central Bushwick and Bed-Stuy.
Great price. Space looks nice. Horrible train options.
