This looks like a pretty great house at 1403 Ditmas Avenue situated in Ditmas Park, a four bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom rental going for $5,500 a month. Not a bad deal considering all the space you’re going to get within a two-block walk to the Q and B trains. There’s also a loft that takes up the third floor, two driveways, and a wraparound porch…suburban living at its best!

  1. This house was reno’d by a local flipper who upped his game… Still kind of Home Depo-esque, in terms of bathrooms, kitchen (although there are 2 dishwashers…). House was gutted by a fire, and no period detail survived on the interior, which puts a lot of buyers off, also corner lot with no yard to speak of. This house makes a great rental though – tons of space, clean, modern reno that you don’t have to live with forever, since it really isn’t high end enough to justify the price tag in terms of purchase.

  2. I think there is a glory days thing with old PC people that is a little hard to move on from.

But yeah, would have been cool to be with people my own age. You get too far off the beaten path and all your find are heroin dealers and missionaries. Not that they didn’t have obscene parties themselves…

  3. jessi, I am not. I spent my post-college years doing volunteer work but I wanted to be in rural asia and PC didn’t go where I wanted to go at the time. So I went solo. But half my friends did Peace Corps. Many never recovered… that is a different conversation

  4. Put two people in that attic loft and you’ve got rent at about $915/person. You could probably fit three up there. You could also have someone in the living room. That’s how I lived when I was just out of college and first came to Brooklyn.
