Funky facade aside, this two-bedroom unit at the condo building 610 Union looks like it could be promising. For a rental, it’s got a nice big kitchen and at least one decently sized bedroom, judging from the listing photo. Alas, there are no pictures of the living room or the “massive” floor-to-ceiling windows the listing boasts. Anyhow, the location is prime Williamsburg, right off McCarren Park. The rent is $3,200 a month—certainly not a steal—but we’ve seen higher in this neighborhood. What do ya think?

  1. tyburg – 3200 for a 2 bedroom that’s new and has a washer and a dryer is pretty standard. WB rentals are pretty pricey because of high demand, you’re just not part of that demand. i know people paying way more for new 2 bedrms, and have 2 friends paying just under this for 1 bedrms. it’s a grown up apt, so expect to see couple or couple + kid renting here. know 2 owners in the bldg, and both happy.

  2. “DH – floodlights aside, is 471 Keap really a better location? OK, right on top of the subway, but nowhere near the park and in a corner of Williamsburg whose character is defined by the BQE and Kellog’s?? This place is an easy walk to the subway. I haven’t been in the Keap area in a few months, so maybe it’s different now that most of the construction is done.”

Yeah – don’t get me wrong, I used to live a block from here and absolutely loved it. Personally I would prefer Keap because it’s WAY closer to the only real grocery store in the area on Lorimer/Grand, all of the 24 hour shopping in the hood is on metro (for late night beer, cigs, food runs), the restaurants/bars on Grand btw Lorimer and Leonard and closer to the J (for those inevitable mornings the L is messed up)

and it’s still only a 5 minute walk to the park (admittedly i’m not a big park goer, haha)

No idea whether the price of either is reasonable, but I think I’d rather be here than on Keap.

  4. If there’s 2 bathrooms – 3,200 is pretty good. If only one, I’d say 3k does the trick considering 471 Keap just went rental and they’re renting for around 3,000 in an arguably better location.
