Rental of the Day: 461 Willoughby
Want to live in an older brownstone with an updated interior? This two-bedroom Bed Stuy pad at 461 Willoughby Ave. may work. At 900 square feet, it isn’t huge, and one of the bedrooms is smaller than the other. But it looks like a nice remodel for a rental. The rent comes in at $1,850/month….

No thanks! I’m not paying someone else mortgage.
I agree, Andrew, no matter how good the renovation.

I respectfully disagree. There are plenty of people on Stuyvesant Ave leaving giant dog turds all over the sidewalk and street, a problem only aggravated by the amount of snow we’ve had.
I experienced far less poo over on the western end. My biggest issue with the CH/BS border was always the chicken bones and my dog’s almost demented obsession with them.
As for the rent, I agree with DH that rent in BS is insanely varied, as is the housing stock, as will be your neighbors, and the quality of the nearby bodegas/restaurants if you are lucky enough to have some.
Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on who you ask, it does not always follow that better blocks have higher rents.

“It looks nice, but is this market rent in this part of Bed Stuy? Stuy Heights or closer to the Clinton Hill border I could see it.”

It looks nice, but is this market rent in this part of Bed Stuy? Stuy Heights or closer to the Clinton Hill border I could see it. Maybe people will pay a premium for the recent reno.
